Summer Days

Image
Yesterday on the 23/07/18 the temperature soared way above my comfort tolerance where even the electric fan failed to cool me down. I had dreamed of summers days like these when I could go outside and not feel the slightest shiver, but now that it's at a record-breaking 30+ degrees, I can't wait until its Autumn again. However, because that isn't going to happen anytime soon, I was over-the-moon with the news that my dad was going to get out the water sprinklers in the garden. I tied my curly hair up in a bobble, put on my swimming costume, grabbed a towel and sprinted outside where I was greeted with the best cure for overheating. I once again felt like I was a child as I immediately sprinted through the water, enjoying how cool it felt as it sprinkled all over my body. I also noticed how small the water stream looked compared to when I was younger and half the size I was now, but I didn't care as the stream rotated left to right, up and down, giving the grass and wate

Next Summer Sale Haul

Image
I decided that I was going to purchase some items from Next as a result of their summer sale. Don't we all love a good shopping splurge, especially when it's a lot cheaper, and enjoying the excitement of when it arrives at your doorstep all nicely wrapped for you as if it was your birthday or Christmas? Well, in this blog post I am going to show you what I received. Coral Pineapple Cotton Pyjama Set I absolutely adore this cute little set from Next. Not only is it super soft and comfortable making you never want to take it off as you get ready for the day, but the quirky Pineapple designs that could be mistaken for a tropical Palm tree gives me holiday vibes and looking forward to the hot, sunny weather. The top of this pyjama set would be perfect for a warm night as it has a small slit in the sleeves finished off with a dainty bow in order to let more air in as well as making it look more fashionable. It could even be passed off  as a normal, everyday T-shirt if tucked i

5 Ways to Get Inspired to Write

Image
When you begin to draft your story including developing the plot, characters, and all them necessities, it is kind of like you are following a recipe in your favourite cookbook, and one of the most important ingredients you need to write a good story is inspiration. This can be found in all sorts of places, though when writer's block strikes it can seem very difficult to find this. Therefore, in this blog post, I am going to give you 5 ways in which I find inspiration myself to write the story I so desperately want to share. 1. Nature: Sometimes taking a break from technology and the popular Netflix series is the best thing to do to refresh your creative mind and relieve writer's block that has plagued your thoughts and stopped you from continuing your writing passion. Nature is all around us so it shouldn't be too difficult to find your favourite walk that inspires you as soon as you step foot onto the land. There is also the chance that on your little vacation

Lincoln University Freshers Week

Image
In September I will be heading off the University of Lincoln to study English and Creative Writing after receiving an unconditional offer (yay!), and whilst university is a way to grasp more knowledge on your chosen degree and hopefully gain a good job when you finish, it is also the place to gain independence, live as an adult on your own terms and rules, and most importantly… have fun! Tonight I believe I have achieved this goal of mine quite unexpectedly. This occurred when my friend, who I will be living with next year in student housing, messaged me about freshers wristbands to use at many events during freshers week. If you are not familiar with this term, like I was up until about a year ago when I started applying for different universities, 'freshers' is used during the first week of university where lots of events and activities will be held, giving you the perfect opportunity to meet new people and experience new things. A part of this obviously includes the nightli

Review of the Cucumber Peel-Off Face Mask

Image
Disclaimer: All products used are my own. All pictures used are my own. All opinions stated are my own. Today I decided that I was in need for my own spa day, minus the expensive cost of getting a facial done professionally. Instead, I collected the face masks I received for my 18th birthday (see picture below) and decided that I was going to have a Cucumber Peel-Off mask consisting of cucumber, lime and pressed flowers in order to give it a lovely scent when spread on skin that is said to remove the unwanted dirt and grime from your face. In this blog post, I will give my insight to the overall product, including the design, its effect on my skin, pricing, and my honest/personal opinion. These can be found at the 7th Heaven website or at other retail stores, such as Boots at the affordable price of £1.00. As always, before I try a product I like to grasp what it is all about. First of all, I believe that anyone can use this product if they are in need of a relaxi

A Brand New Start

I've pondered on the thought of how I'm going to start this blog. A few ideas have sprung to mind: (wow, nice to see you here). Yes, I know... all undoubtedly cringey and, well... not me. So, I'm going to do what I do best and get straight to the point. The idea of starting a blog has been spiralling in my mind for quite some time now. I'm going to be honest, I have created blogs before in the past and given them a quirky layout matched with a kind-of cool title, but I have never stuck to it, leading my curser into the direction of the delete button. However, I just couldn't decide why it always led to that point. Fear of judgement? Lack of inspiration? Perhaps a combination of them both? But I have never got this far, where I am sat on my desk/bed on one sunny day and writing this... my first blog post. Some say that your first post has to be special and era-defining (perhaps I'm exaggerating here), but I will gladly argue against this blogging stereot
